What is the number one obstacle to success?

That's right! Fear of the unknown.  Whether or not we recognise it, we all experience fear at times, however, one of the differences between those who succeed and those who don't, is the ability to challenge what we are afraid of.

Without challenging your fears, it's possible you could remain in an abusive relationship longer than necessary.  Without challenging your fears you could find yourself stuck in a job that stifles your creativity, just waiting and counting the days until you retire. Without challenging your fears you may blame other people for your inability to move your life forward, even though having someone to blame, does not rid you of your troubles.

On the other hand, by challenging your fears, you could transform your life!

Fear does what it is supposed to do .....

  • protects you
  • alerts you to danger
  • shows your boundaries

But....

It can also prevent you from experiencing more of life. It can freeze you in place, and erode your confidence.

Our sum of fear does not necessarily originate with us. Some are immediate but pass soon after the cause has gone, others stem from previous experience in this life, leaving a memory in our bodies. Yet other fears are carried over from previous lives or other generations of kinsfolk.

So how do you challenge your fears so that you can live more expansively?

Like anything else that has an impact on us, the residue of fear can remain in our energetic system for a long time and limit our ability to experience life as fully as we would choose. It alters our way of thinking, our perception of life, and the way we see ourselves.

There are ways to deal with this.....

Will power alone is not enough to change the effect of long term fear. If you are in danger, the first thing is to remove yourself from that threat. Counselling, NLP, Hypnosis, and the nurturing support of  people who care about you, work on the physical and emotional level and can support you in gaining the confidence to confront your fears.
